About The Event

Join this free webinar where we will explore Tate Modern's collection of Latin American female artists. If you missed our tour at the museum, join us in this live online class so you can discover these incredible artists from the comfort of your own home. It will give you the perfect introduction to Latin American art, and the work of amazing women who forever changed the course of art history in South America.

We will study women who fought for their right to be seen in an art world dominated by men — artists who found new ways to express their political and social views like never before. Sarcasm, embodiment, abstraction and social critique were some of the tools they employed to break through the strict social structures that controlled the Latin American art industry of the time.

You will explore the work of artists such as Ana Mendieta, Olga de Amaral, Beatriz Gonzalez, Lygia Clark, Liliana Porter and Gego, among many others.

Book your space on the class today, and you will be sent a link so you can connect to the live course on Thursday 1st August at 8:30pm.
